Kill Your Idols Series

Introduction

We are returning with a series that begins and ends simultaneously. These pieces are designed to destroy the iconic figures related to the masses, whose social connotations have become deities of positive and negative meanings. With cliche topics like religion, justice guided by the law, and the street as the environment of the human being, kill your idols intends to seize the most iconic images relating to these concepts and to break the paradigm and criticize the adherence to these symbols. The tone of this series is constructed with a fusion of street photography and collage. Consisting of three compositions, each addresses one of the issues mentioned, together with the sampling of photographs of which they are inspired.

Introducción

Volviendo con una serie que nace y muere de una misma sensación; de un mismo impulso masivo. Las piezas en conjunto tienen la finalidad de destruir aquellas figuras icónicas adheridas a las masas que debido al desarrollo social se han convertido en deidades de idolatración positivas así como negativas. Partiendo de temas cliché como la religión, la justicia guiada por la ley y la calle como el entorno del hombre animal, kill your idols tiene la intención de arrebatar las imágenes mas representativas de estos temas y romper el paradigma, criticando el por qué la gente adhiere su vida a estos significantes. En esta serie la técnica empleada se convierte en el medio para dar el tono adecuado a las piezas y por este motivo cada una de estas se construye a partir de la fusión entre la fotografía de calle y el collage. Son tres composiciones y cada una trata uno de los temas mencionados; acompañadas de las fotografías de las cuales sirvieron como punto de reflexión o inspiración.
